The Ellinwood Eagle basketball teams look to continue their winning streaks this week when they travel to Ness City to take on the Eagles on Tuesday, and then host the Kinsley Coyotes on Friday for Homecoming.

The #2 Lady Eagles (15-0) will take on a 4-8 Ness City squad, who has lost a few close games as of late.  The Lady Eagles will continue to count on their seniors for leadership and production as Rachel Doll (21.2 ppg) recently broke the single game scoring record vs Palco with 37 points and Delaney Beckwith, who now has the school record for blocks in a season with 49.  Last week against Attica in Pratt, seniors Tawny Arndt finished with seven points and seven assists and Blake Wilt ended with 10 points and seven rebounds.  Back from her injury against Ellis, sophomore Allison Panning was in the starting lineup and was back to her normal self with 15 points and 13 rebounds.  The Lady Eagles battled Kinsley earlier in the season at the Keady Basketball Classic in Larned.  Ellinwood won 63-45.

On the Boy’s side, the Eagles (9-6) continue to improve every week and are riding on a five game winning streak.  Fresh from their 64-47 win vs Attica on Saturday, the Eagles were led by sophomore Tyson Martinez with 17 points and five rebounds.  Senior Gavin Vink added 12 points, as well as junior Kaleb Schartz.  Senior Marc Waite is averaging 16.5 points per game and 6.7 rebounds per game.  Ellinwood has not faced Ness City or Kinsley as of yet, but look to continue their winning streak to seven.
